Every time you’re near me,
I think that we could be.
I wait and I wait,
but you are always late.
I see you and we flirt,
but for me it’s always hurt.
So I sit here and I ponder,
the way you make me wonder…
Why do you not love me?
Why can we not be?
Why can you not get down on your knee,
and declare your love for me?
With me there must be something wrong,
for us never to belong.
I hate you for doing this,
yet it’s always you I miss.
Sometimes you can be heartless,
yet for you I still want happiness.
So I sit here and I ponder,
the way you make me wonder…
Why do you not love me?
Why can we not be?
Why can you not get down on your knee,
and declare your love for me?

I really like this poem, and can also relate to it. I think a lot of people will be able to relate to this poem. Its really sad to feel such a desperation and then give in to hope for happiness to the person you so desperately wanted all to yourself. I know it’s also hard to get through, and your poem could possibly help someone to express how they feel. Keep up the good work.
this is really nice and i can relate to this poem also i just dont understand why?
