The painter is like a mouse in a maze.
The painter stares dauntlessly at the blank canvas
just as the mouse gazes intently into the entrance of the maze,
both sensing the succulent reward at journey’s end.
The mouse and painter begin their adventure,
one through a winding, walled maze
and the other through a convoluted canvas labyrinth,
but neither knowing what lies beyond the next turn.
The mouse’s tail sweeps around each bend,
as the painter’s brush sweeps vibrant colors into existence.
With each step they sense the end of the journey drawing near,
The mouse’s nose begins to twitch with anticipation,
both experience a surge of adrenaline.
Their reward awaits!
Bursting forth from the maze,
the mouse dines on a delicious piece of brie cheese.
Although the mouse dines happily alone,
the painter and all who view his masterpiece dine on it together.
Message from author-I wrote this poem for a metophoric extention (or whatever) in 7th grade English. Thought it was kind of neat. Enjoy my simple minded words haha!
