When my heart beats out of control
Quite my mind and steady my hurried pace,
Give me visions of the eternal reach of time,
When our souls are taken to a higher place.
Amide the confusion of the day
Give me the calmness of heavenly dreams,
Break the tensions of my nerves,
With the soothing music of the singing streams!
Help me to know the restoring power of sleep
Teach me the art of taking minute vacations,
To look at a flower or chat with a friend,
To fully grasp all Your creations!
Slow me down Lord to sent my roots
Deep into the soil of life’s enduring spectrum,
That I may grow toward the stars,
Of my greater destiny to come!
