Reflection

Walking into the sunlight filled field
With the weeping willow slowly dancing in the warm breeze,
The lake smooth on the surface even though
Underneath life flourishes,
Off in the distance there is a deer running back into the woods.
Always dreaming of the simplicity of that life,

Sitting in this picture perfect landscape thinking to myself.
Why must we make life so difficult?
Every once in awhile you need to stop and enjoy the scenery,
Because life isn’t about how much power you have
Or how many friends you have,
Life is about trying to find what makes you happy
And not getting caught up in the everyday nonsense.
This field put everything into perspective,
If you rush through life and never stop to look around
Have you ever really lived?

This is a wonderful, insightful poem… it is a lesson I’m trying to learn… to pause and reflect and take a moment to breathe life in like a sweet summer breeze on a red hot day.

Well penned! *smile*

I can’t tell you how motivating your poem is…The only hard part is going along with it. I didn’t think where I’m at now would be this hard to surpass but reading this makes you want to set every situation that brings people down all the time aside and just get back on your feet and walk over them.
I hope you write more. This one is very lovely.

Lovely. That is so true. I felt more joy when I went and sat in a tree stand with my husband. I did,t really want to go but iI went to make him happy. He said morning was when every thing comes alive, and he was right the sun coming up the birds cherping and I seen 6 deer that morning and I thought what a blessed day to see the beauty in God, work and the blessings we have and never take time to see. Thank you fo such a lovely poem. Have a blessed day, Linda

great poem, I totally believe you must take time to smell the roses and to enjoy the beauty all around. It is one of god’s gifts that no one can take away from us, and it helps keep me grounded and focused on the true meaning of life.

in this busy competitive world this is the harsh reality that we run after which is most sought as standard of success by society rather than behind what our heart wants…..indeed a real reflection….
