Tear Me Open

Tear me open and see what’s inside,
Scars from the past will surely lie.
I dress myself with a smile to hide
The pain and suffering that presides.

Leave me to be and walk away,
I’m sick of falling and starting to sway.
My life has become an obnoxious array
Of my affection for you to this very day.

Rumors have started and ended as well,
But I’m still stuck in this treacherous hell,
Visions are haunting because I fell,
But you’re oblivious and cannot tell.

Maybe someday you’ll realize,
How much it hurts when I look in your eyes,
And maybe you’ll see that I’m paralyzed,
Next time you’re walking by my side.

For now I’m holding this story back,
Unless you choose to simply ask,
Then I’ll be forced to remove the mask,
But comprehension you seem to lack.
