  • Poet's Confession of Love

I lie here in my bed,
    forever reflecting.
    The feelings not said,
    emotions I'm deflecting.

    I wish to make amends,
    but time doesn't agree.
    I admit my heart pretends,
but only to a certain degree.

I want you to know I love you.
    Believe me, yes I do.
I won't forget you, till forever.
Trust me on this, I will.

It hurts, this feeling called love.
I felt this, once like a bleeding dove.
Why can't people love anyone they want?
Stupid restrictions, they provoke me, to an all-day rant.

To a certain extent I wish to say sorry.
But I'll also make up for it, don't you worry.
I will stop pretending and be more of a man, I swear.
The burdens that I might encounter, I'd happily bear.

Once too, you taught me how to kiss.
That moment I'll forever, will not miss.
You see, I once prayed to God for an angel's blessing.
Instead I got you, together with you're lovely dressing.
In this simple poem, I hoped I have said what I wanted to reveal.
I acted like the poet, who underwent a terrible love ordeal.
In the end, there's nothing more to say.
I guess you'll soon forget, after this day.
