Women-Agents of Change

As you leave the gates of higher learning

Full of ambition, the world your playground

Let not the lure of ecstasy blind you

For you have attained a gift to rival all tools

As family and well wishers bid you farewell,

Now that you are a wife to a husband

Let it not be forestalled the visions of your desires

For you have already mapped the destiny of your capabilities

As you give birth to life, what a miracle

A being in need of your love, care and nurturing

Let that be a reminder of the legacy you’ll leave behind

For through your deeds they surely shall aspire

As you reflect back on your achievements in life

In old age, watching the world evolve around you

Let it not be a secret you take to the grave

The wisdom, rich in contend, for it is the basis of a good foundation for generations to come

It is without question the greatest desire

An equal platform of fairness is required

A mutual memorandum of equal opportunity

For negligence of equality is the stupidity of man

We have gained great strides in blinding storms

Against the currents of oppression, doubt and isolation

Never forgetting that we are the agents of change

For greatness is gained by overcoming challenges

No challenge is bigger than the will of God

No obstacle a punishment but a lesson from above

Women are Mother Nature’s protectors on earth

As sure as it is their destiny to succeed in their endeavours
