SOUNDING A SILENCE

Sounds have ears
they can hiss,hush,blast
in the air,
in the midst of
countless sounds
all around
silence is a hermit
where the sun and moon
write their diaries
silently,
witness the days and nights
silence tends
to shape great things
sounds change the pitch
like a coward from
time to time then fade
rest is the name of silence,
the regime of silence
will never end
let there be the beating of
thousand drums.
