Poetry
I found a ble pen
And wrote his name
Into my skin.
My lover.
Poetry.
He told mr to write a
A poem to myself
And not read a word
Of it to anyone else,
But I can't keep our
Love a secret
And this is going to
Sound cliche,
But this is
A love poem
For poetry.
How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
Sonnets.
Slam.
Haikus.
I prefer poetry
I the form of slam.
Slam.
Home for the rebel poets
And artists who don't
Give a shit!
We won't
Use rhyme schemes
Unless we have a reason.
And as for Taos,
5-7-5 is only our
Area code and never
The set amount
Of spit syllables.
My lines flow
From my breasts
Feeding my hungry child.
Poetry.
One day he will
Be big and strong,
Ready to bitch slap
Any other slam poet
Who spits out of place,
Because he is conceived
Of ink and paper.
Ink and paper.
He is not flesh
Or blood,
But he shares my pulse,
His life flows through
My every inner being
And sometimes he begs to come out.
My inspiration.
Mi hito
Poetry.
Don't be afraid to come
Out from behind my heart.
Stop hiding.
Come out and play.
Play with words
And phrases that
Make you smile,
Because I only want
To see you happy my love.
Mi amor.
Poetry.
By any other name
Would sound as sweet.
But no other name
Sounds sweeter than poetry.
Your engraved into
My every thoughts and feelings.
And when I get the
Chance I'll thank you later.
Thank you for every
Inspiration you have given me.
Because my words are all I have.
My freedom of speech
Breaks the chains of silence
And fear to be myself.
I write away,
Every bad thing I can
And try to put into words
My own little wonderland.
I am free,
And so are you,
To roam across
College ruled lines
And blank canvas'.
Just don't trip
And fall on the way
Because then I'll
Have to patch
You up with revisions.
Revisions.
A vision that is not
Mine but someone else's.
Can't they see
That this visionary
Did not envision their revisions
Because it's not my vision.
My vision is poetry.
Slam poetry.
Rebel artists without a cause
Because they don't need one.
We just want to have
The last word.
If we could
Spell it out for you
We would,
But poetry is not
Spelled out so easily
Even though it's
Only six letters.
See we may not
The science of poetry.
Do the math to come
To it's conclusions.
Know it's history,
Or even be poetically correct sometimes.
But one thing we are
Is poetically correct.
So Mr. Webster add that
To your dictionary
And define it,
Because if there is one
Thing you can;t define
It's poetry.
Poetry.
I love you poetry
