Letter From Heaven
Twenty years since I left you,
And Heaven hasn’t changed.
Your mansion is waiting on the hilltop.
I even carved in all of your names.
The streets are really paved with gold.
Silver lines the Angels wings.
It’s all so amazing but still I miss
You just the same.
Oh, please don’t be angry, nor hold
Onto grief.
I know we never got to say goodbye.
Just know that I’m at peace.
I was left with no tears to cry and
Too much pain inside.
As I was flown home, the misery
Began to subside.
When I entered the Kingdom, God shook
My hand and told me to tell you all Hi!
Oh, the Birthdays, Graduations, Grandchildren
And the Engagements I’ve missed.
If only you could sense my presence and
Feel the touch of my divine kiss.
Keep your hearts open and don’t forget
All of the wonderful memories we made.
Our destinies were each other, our bond
Is something that cannot be waned.
Just know one day you’ll all cross through
Those pearly gates.
On the other side you’ll see my familiar
Face, tears of happiness will flow.
Our stranger souls embrace, us together
Forever, eternity no longer has to wait.
