BIRD HEAVEN

I was looking out my back porch
This morning,
I saw an Eagle soaring
High in the sky
As his holy wings
Stroked the clouds proudly
Like he was showing the world America's torch
Then I saw a Cardinal resting
In the cleavage of a tree
Then as quickly as he came
A Bluejay rushed him away
Like he owned the tree
But long he did not stay
He flew away in flight
Starting another journey in daylight
Then I turned my attention
To to an Oriole sitting proudly on a fence
Sticking out his orange chest
Giving an edgy call
I am a Robin Red Breast
Then I thought to myself
This is Bird Heaven as it's best.
