I Betrayed You

Woven together with needle and thread
We wove our friendship seem by seem
A perfect piece of artistry we made
But what happens when someone shreds it apart?
Making a permanent piece of tattered history
My Dear Friend, I betrayed you
I took my knife
I slit your throat and watched you slowly die
Watching as you bleed
You didn’t cry
You didn’t plead
You simply watched me with those sad eyes
And whispered that you’d always love me
And that you’d pray for me at night
Oh and how I laughed
And laughed….
By now I regret the minute I turned away
For your words haunt me day by day
I wake up in the middle of the night hearing you’re voice
Feeling your heart beating and those sad eyes burning me
The guilt I feel overwhelms and compresses me into thin air
I hold the ashes of our once perfect masterpiece
Hoping one day for you and me to rebuild our history
Little by little piece
