How do I join/register as a member of Poems Only?

  • Click Join which is also at the top of each page of the “new designed site.”
  • Make note that login information is case sensitive so pay close attention to case.
  • Fill in your desired username and complete email address. Be careful of typos here.
  • Complete the required Math problem. We are not testing your IQ here. This is to prevent bots from abusing the site.
  • Check your email which will contain your password. Check your spam folder. Unfortunately emails that come from a web server tend to go into the spam folder.

How do I post my poem?

  • Click the Add Your Poem link at the top right of every page.
  • Next fill in a title and your poem as well as name email and other important information.
  • Click on Add Poem.
  • You are DONE! Your poem is now live on the site.
  • All of the poems go through a transition from the new poems section to the front page and other sections of the site.
  • Thank you for your support and contribution!

How do I post a comment?

  • While commenting on a poem does not require a login, anonymous comments go into a queue to be reviewed by an editor. If that editor is me, if there are thousands of comments, they can not all be reviewed in a timely manner. Unless you wish to volunteer :)
  • Having said that, please login first. While on a poem page, scroll down to the bottom of the page, fill in your comment and press the submit button. It’s as easy as that.

How can I be promoted to other ranks such as Editor or Author?

  • To be promoted you will need to Contact Poems Only and request a promotion. Promotions are not handed out lightly. You will need to have proven community involvement by submitting quality, error free poems, and comment on other poems to show support for other authors.
  • Subscriber - Can read comments/comment/receive newsletters, etc.
  • Contributor - Can write and manage their posts but not publish posts.
  • Author - Can publish and manage their own posts.
  • Editor - Can publish posts, manage posts as well as manage other people’s posts, etc.
  • Administrator - Somebody who has access to all the administration features. That would be me.
