The day that you left us
You didn’t say good-bye.
God was calling his angel home,
There was no time to ask why.
How we cried when you left
The pain was felt by all.
Memories now is all we have
And your pictures on the wall.
Though I cannot see you,
I know that your still here.
In my memories you will always live,
In my heart you’re always near.
Tears have fallen for you,
Some happy and some sad.
A man that I grew up to love,
A man I called my Grand-Dad.
We miss you very dearly,
You’re missed very much.
You will never be forgotten,
You’re in a child’s touch.

I feel very touched by this poem. I just lost my Grandma last month. 9/23. She was like my mom. She’s the one who raised me. I’m deeply sorry for your lost.
hey its a really nice, flowing and emotional poem, but try not to end so abruptly. try to ease into the ending. i’m not trying to bash your poem by saying anything bad about it. i’m just trying to help you become a better poet. so try a new ending and if you’re happy with it, keep it. My grandfather recently died. I found this poem very touching. I loved him. I really did.
i lost my grand dad on the 8/02/2005 and he was world to me.my grand parent brought me up since i was 11 months.i could not talk to my grand dad when he passed away as he was in hospital.he will always in my mind and even though he is gone he still live inside me and when i really feels that he is not gonna come back it makes me cry always.he was my angel and always will be.the poem really touched my heart.keep it up bless you!

Nice poem, but I believe if you just stretched it out a bit longer, it would have been more intense.

This poem is really sad. My grandpa died about 9 years ago and I can’t remember how he was. I was a little girl when he died.I could remember that he was really nice.
i have a grandpa that passed away it hurts to lose those who we really love …..but we now they are in a better place a place where there is o pain and suffering…….i miss him dearly…..time will probly only heal our sadness……when my granddaddy past a away i felt this cold air go threw me,,he used to live a block away from me….sometimes its hard to understand why it happens…..he passed away dec 7th 2008-
even though this was about grand dads ……i found this very heart warming because …….my grandmother died on christmas of 2009 …..i just went to her funeral on 1-3-09 its now 1-4-09
everyone was heartbroken…… and we miss her dearly….. but even though she is gone she will never be forgotten ……she is in our:

I really enjoyed reading your poem and am sorry to hear about your grandfather. I lost my Nonno (grandpa in italian) a few weeks shy of a month ago, and know how insufferable, and unbearible losing someone who means the absolute world to you can be. That poem touched my heart for it was a beautiful tribute to your grand-dad, and i know that he is very proud as he smiles down and watches over you. i know when my Nonno past away everyone kept telling me to be strong…
but i don’t, and never have, wanted to. i have crieded myself to sleep countless times and have mourned myself dry. i still talk to him every night, and even wrote my speech (a 3-5 minute speech that we have to do in school, about any topic we please) about him, what he has blessed me with, and his long battle with cancer (and i won!). if you don’t mind i plan to use this poem in a poetry assignment where we have to find 5 poems off the internet that we enjoy.
