Always seems to drive me crazy.

Can’t believe it took so many years for our love to unfurl.
Beautiful is what you say I am
And my reaction is always “damn.”
What did I do to deserve a guy
Who won’t even let me tell him “Goodbye?”
You are like no one else I’ve ever met
And there’s no way that I can ever forget.
We were friends for so long before
We never knew what He had in store.
We’ve all experienced broken hearts, fallen tears, and more
But, you’ve healed my heart and made it better than before.
Every day I thank God for bringing me to you
And now I know that there is nothing that we can’t make it through.

Message from the author: This poem is dedicated to my current boyfriend, Josh L. Curry. He is amazing in any and every way and he loves me just as much as (if not more than) I love him…. We were in school together for seven years, (both crushed on each other) and then nearly a year after graduation, we found each other once again && he had joined the USMC. This poem is inspired by him and the way he treats me from 700 miles away… He will be home soon, and I’m very thankful for that. He is the best thing to ever happen to me, and I love him with all of my heart and soul. ***Thank you Josh for Loving me so much, I love you!***

Hi Mick,
I was actually writing it as I was talking to him. Everything he would say literally inspired some part of the poem. We communicate over the internet 99% of the time, and we’ve just recently started talking on the internet at night, so no, I haven’t read it to him. But I did send it to him, as I finished each stanza, and then sent him the poem in it’s entirety as a file, because he asked for it special to save and show to his friends at MOS. It was really sweet. If you look at one of the comments toward the top, Josh Curry, That’s my boyfriend. He’s trying to say he loves me more..lol But, thank you all for your wonderful comments! I do have a couple more poems I have submitted, I’m not sure if they’ve been posted yet though. Thanks again!
