Cost of Lessons Learned

The lessons of life are hard-earned
when you find a love that doesn’t return.
Yet, this lesson of this week
of the soulmate I would seek…

I knew from the beginning
that it would go no where.
So does it really matter
that I knew he didn’t care?

A day or so ago my heart would have cried out,
from wounds of pain that I would shout.
Yet, somehow that’s not the case
and there’s no pain to erase.

The sun it shines so bright;
now no more petty fights.
When there is thought of loss
make experience the cost.

Message from the author: Any experience, I realize now can be seen from different points of view. Do you take it all hard and negative and give up, on life, give up on love? Or do you take that life lesson in a positive light and turn it into a stepping stone to lift you out of the rut you had found yourself in? For once when I would normally have regrets… I substitute the word regrets.. with the word experience. :-)
